MTR Foods Pvt. Ltd. supports Bangalore’s Healthcare Professionals In the fight against COVID-19

COVID-19 has left the world in a state of turmoil, including India where Lockdown 4.0 has begun, albeit in a more relaxed manner. As the world grapples with the impact of this pandemic, there are those few who have been working tirelessly at the front lines to protect and shield us. From doctors, nurses, police officers, essentials government officials to the media, they are the heroes who have continue to put in their all to ensure we remain safe and secure. So as long as these uncertainties surround us, it is imperative for everyone, especially the corporate world to come together and extend support to these front liners in whatever way possible.

As a local Bangalore-based company, MTR Foods Pvt. Ltd. contributed towards this fight and provided Ready to Eat meals and Ready to Drink Beverages to the Corona Warriors – the doctors and medical staff at hospitals – that are battling the growing COVID-19 pandemic in the city. Contributing to the food requirements of healthcare professionals who are working tirelessly at Victoria Hospital and Vani Vilas Women and Children Hospital and Narayana Health in Bengaluru, MTR Foods has till date provided more than 30,000 Ready-to-Eat meals, 3 Minute Breakfast Packs and Badam Drink Beverage cans that have brought relief to these frontline soldiers.

The packs were sent in five separate consignments on the basis of the requirements sent in by the designated Covid hospitals. To meet the requirement, production of the Ready to Eat Meal Packs was prioritized at the MTR Production Facility despite facing challenges in Supply Chain and labour and other logistical obstacles during the initial days of the lockdown.

MTR Foods felt that it was imperative to step up and provide our support in whatever way possible. They approached the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Karnataka and offered their help. The hospitals approached the government for additional food support, and the government in turn connected them with the company, who then proceeded to produce and supply these products to the hospitals basis their requirement. Through this association, MTR Foods has tried to relieve some of the stress that these healthcare workers go through. A ready and convenient meal would help ensure that these frontline workers are filled with renewed energy as they continue to face the pandemic head-on.

There is a “New Normal” emerging and consumers are adapting to it quite quickly and it is important to start anticipating the long-term impacts that this virus would have and be prepared for them. Apart from the meal packs sent to the health care workers, MTR has also taken out a video that reassures the consumer of the preventive practices that it is deploying at its production facility and throughout the supply chain.
