VIBRANT GUJARAT, GANDHINAGAR : 17-19 JANUARY 2019

NBAI along with Royal Norwegian Consulate General ,Mumbai participated as PARTNER COUNTRY in VIBRAT GUJARAT held in Gandhinagar, from 17th January uptill 19th January 2019.

Companies like STRATKRAFT,JOTUN, HYDRO, KONSBERG DIGITAL, AATASH NORCONTROL & LAERDAL participated had their stall under TEAM NORWAY Pavilion.

The event was successful as all the companies participating could showcase their business products and also were given chance to show case their presentations in NORWAY COUNTRY SEMINAR

On 17th January PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the EXHIBITION ,he passed our Norway stall & greeted Ambassador Nils Ragnar Kamsvag .

Later on 18th January ,over 70 countries were present for the inaugural session of Vibrant Gujarat, and several international heads of state and ministers held speeches.

In Prime Minister Modi’s speech, he emphasized the need to continue lowering the barriers for doing business to ensure an investor friendly environment. Businesses should thrive in Gujarat as well as India overall.

The “Norway Seminar” on 19th January featured Indian heavy weights Reliance, Adani Gas and Swan Energy who spoke of the need for Norwegian technology and cross-national collaboration in further developing the oil and gas sector, as well as renewables.

Consul General Ann Ollestad opened the seminar, followed by a brief by Ambassador Kamsvåg on the outcome of the recent visit by Norwegian Prime Minister to India.

Stratkraft, Jotun, Kongsberg Digital, Kongsberg Norcontrol, Laerdal Medical and Hydro gave insightful presentations about their companies’ present and future work.

Adding to the latter, wind energy company UgesPowermax spoke of the opportunities for collaboration within offshore and onshore wind.

With participation from both Statkraft and DNV GL, the panel was nicely balanced between Norway and India, and provided an ideal setting for exploring the possibilities in Gujarat, a state which acts as a good entry point for further expansion into the rest of India.

An informal round of quick B2B meetings directly followed the seminar.

The companies will also be available at the Norway pavilion in the next couple days to continue these conversations and meeting new interested parties. Following up the contacts made and opportunities discovered is key in making this a successful summit.
